Weddings and IWSG Wednesday

IWSG

The amazing co-hosts for the June 3 posting of the IWSG will be M. Pax, Tracy Jo, Patricia Lynne, Rachna Chhabria, Feather Stone, and Randi Lee! I know they'd love a visit or two....and don't forget to thank them!

This will be short, but sweet and you’ll see why in a moment. June is here! Where has the year gone? I thought it just turned 2015 and now we’re half way through. This is what always happens to me now that I’m “older.” Time runs away and I can’t keep a hold of it no matter how I try. I think sometimes if I could just slow down in my head a bit that might change, but then life throws something else my way and off I go again. Take these two months, May and June. I anticipated getting a lot of writing done. Then found out, with two week’s notice, that our son was getting married, on Mother’s Day! Two week’s notice. Gives the three words a new meaning, and one I prefer.
The "second" wedding we’ve known about for a year; our daughter is marrying at the end of the month, on the 27th of June. She is so excited, and ready for it to be here. So, one down, one to go! And, that means I’m still not done with wedding plans!
I’m not complaining, how can I? I'm only standing here noticing time slip away again, and though I’m not getting much writing done, how can I say I regret the reasons why? I can’t. I love my kids. Sometimes my favorite saying is so true I laugh till it hurts, “Life is what happens when you’re busy planning something else.”
Do you ever feel that way? Hope you enjoy the photos! It was a WONDERFUL wedding!

  1. Don't they look great? Congrats to you and to your progeny. I know exactly what you mean about willing your head to slow down a bit. I certainly need to learn how to slow down, to skip the odd photographic or flash fiction challenge, to pace myself better as time flies by!

    1. I so relate to this Keith! Trying not to take on anything more till the fall when it comes to blogging fests/hops, but I do love doing them!

  2. He's a smart man, your Tristan. He can do something nice for his wife on their anniversary and knock out two holidays with one big bunch of roses. LOL

I haven't tired of seeing these pictures--so lovely! I hope wedding #2 goes as well. :)

    1. Thanks Melissa, I agree. I never get tired of seeing them either, and we don't even have all of them yet! Yes, T is smart, because he grabbed her up and married her so no one else could steal her away! And yes, he'll have two special occasions to remember on Mother's Day! Knowing her, she'll want Glads instead of roses!

  3. Yes, it will be a frantic month. It will be the best kind of exciting. Have some champagne for me. Cheers to you and yours.

  4. Hi Lisa - how wonderful .. they look ecstatically happy ... and so when it's gotta be done ... and knotted and tied with a certificate and a party and a white dress ... just gotta get on with it. I think it's wonderful ... short notice, so little time ... yet fabulous ... looks wonderful ...

Gladioli aren't bad either, but the scent of a rose is just a fantastic living thing ... roses ... just picked two ...

Enjoy number two ... and I'm away til September busy doing ... sadly no children to marry off!! Have a fantastic summer .. with lots of brilliant memories .. big hugs - Hilary

  5. Hey Lisa,

For some reason (the one where I will *never* get a job as an investigative reporter) I just now realized you have a Son and a Daughter wedding to (help) plan and participate it.

    How fun!!

Hoping my three boys will one day get married (but a tiny, small part of me would always love to give away a daughter :)

Sounds like you're enjoying life the way its meant to be lived, laughed and loved :)

  8. What a great Mother's Day present. They look so happy. We have a wedding in the family at the end of July. We're excited. I'm trying to get a bunch done before then. Before life happens.

  9. He just had to beat his sister, didn't he? Sibling rivalry runs deep.

    Congratulations on the ever-expanding family!

  10. Just enjoy the family weddings and don't worry too much about the writing Lisa. Family is so very important and these things will never happen again. They look very happy don't they. Lovely pix.

  11. TWO WEEKS?!? I would die. I guess it's better than the two of them running off and eloping. :) Great photos BTW!

  20. Congratulations on you family weddings. Lots of exciting news, but two weeks notice, yikes. I guess that's better than what hubby and I did, we told our parents after we were married.
