For a state normally thought of
as a tourist attraction and retirement destination, Florida has a great deal of
higher education going on. Take for instance the fact that the state run
university system boasts 12 fully accredited universities and almost half of
those are in North Florida. Then there are the private universities, of which
there are 4 (in NF) and those are just the universities. On top of that Florida
has state-wide, 28 community and state colleges, 21 Trade and Tech institutions,
30 private universities and colleges, and 35 religiously-affiliated
institutions. That equals a total of 126 higher learning institutions in the
state. The vast majority of these have visually stunning campuses and are worth
a visit, just to see the grounds if nothing else!

Just a little trivia, my grandfather went to U of F and was
on the football team. My father and mother went to FSU and met at a car rally
there. I once got to see Steve Martin
