January Is Here! First IWSG of 2018

IWSG WEBSITE
I’m writing this on new year’s eve with the hope I can get it posted before (if) we lose power. The roads are icy and the party we were to attend has been canceled. Welcome to life in the mountains! I’m in a bubble of time where everything in the world off the mountain will continue in real time, but we are encapsulated in a tuck of weather that will keep us home, hopefully warm, and with power. I love not having to go anywhere, to just be. This is a time to reflect on 2017 and dream about 2018. And that is what I will do, but not here! I want to wish you all the best of life in this new year to come, that you have learned valuable lessons in the year we are leaving behind, and that you embrace yourself and (those of you who are writers), your writing with love, hope and lots of time putting words on paper. Here are some photos of where I live to brighten your day…

Question for January 3rd...
What steps have you taken or plan to take to put a schedule in place for your writing and publishing?
I am going to France and do nothing but write/revise/blog, read, be with family and friends when I can, and practice my French. I. Can't. Wait.

Please visit the awesome IWSG co-hosts for this month Tyrean Martinson, Ellen @ The Cynical Sailor, Megan Morgan, Jennifer Lane, and Rachna Chhabria!

  1. Some amazing photos.
That's life in the mountains, although where I live might actually see snow tonight.

  6. France! I am so jealous. Joking aside, have a wonderful, safe visit.
Your photos are gorgeous. That is one very cute red gargoyle.

  7. When not snowed in, you have such a beautiful setting to write to. Well, as long as there is a fireplace burning and a fully charged laptop battery I guess snow days are good for writing too.

    Good luck in France :)

  8. I don't mind being snowed in either. I enjoy a slower pace of life. Maybe that's a writer/dreamer thing...we are never stuck as long as our brains have room to wander.
