Blood, Boobs & Carnage BlogFest

The BB&C BlogFest List

In my opinion, the movie Cowboys and Aliens got a bum rap. I really enjoyed it, felt like an old fashioned western with a twist, and since I love Science Fiction, the twist suited me just fine.  It has plenty of blood and carnage but I have to admit was a little light on the boobs side. I’m also a fan of the two leading men, so that didn’t hurt my feelings either. Have you seen it? Well, here is the better of the trailers out there on YouTube. I hope you can see in it what I did…

Next I must put the Lethal Weapon Series! I have watched all of these twice or more and they just don't get old, though the first is my favorite.

And I can't leave out two others, Leon: The Professional

And The Fifth Element.

Guess most of these are all light on the boobs, but they are heavy on the blood and carnage! There are so many more, but don't want to block traffic on the blogfest! Please be sure to check out the other blogs participating!

THANK YOU Alex and Heather for bringing this Blogger Fest to us!

  1. I'll watch anything with Daniel Craig! Yummeeeee. Pity about the lack of boobage...

I loved the entire Lethal Weapon series (first is my favorite too), and love Leon, the Professional. Haven't seen the other two. Not really a fan of Westerns, but I may check it out if I see it on Netflix.

    Hugs, mon cherie!

  3. I agree! Cowboys and Aliens wasn't a 5 star watch but it shouldn't have been panned. And Lethal Weapon? Be still my heart. There's something about hitting the mark on casting. I actually forgot that I saw Fifth Element. Typical Bruce Willis. Of course, little compares to his character on Moonlighting. :)

  4. Absolutely love the Lethal Weapon movies, although you're right about the first being the best. There's just something about Mel's frantic, mad, suicidal cop that really sells the concept.

  5. Some excellent choices! I like Cowboys and Aliens as well. And can't go wrong with Fifth Element. She knows it's a multi-pass!
Thanks for participating in our blogfest.

  6. I haven't seen Cowboys and Aliens, but I am a fan of Lethal Weapon and The Professional.

  7. Great choices... really great ones. Fifth Element and Leon I think were directed by the same guy... and C&A was another film that I found entertaining but you have to know it's about cowboys who stumble onto an alien story... not the other way around. Jon Favreau did a great job directing this.

  9. Cowboys and Aliens! Such a good movie. It is weird how sci-fi and old westerns just seem great together.

  10. I really liked the concept behind Cowboys and Aliens--I'm a fan of incongruous mash-ups. I've seen all the other mentions but can't say I remember much of any of them, but that's not saying much for me.

  11. I've seen bits and pieces of Cowboys and Aliens and all the other ones you mentioned. Lots and lots of carnage.

  13. The Fifth Element definitely gets my vote!! Great B,B&C Blogfest choice!

  14. I loved the Lethal Weapon series, but never saw Cowboys and Aliens. It looked intriguing, but the bad reviews convinced my wife that we didn't need to go. Maybe I should rent it.

  15. My wife and I were just talking about Leon the other day. I enjoyed Cowboys and Aliens. Silly movie, but fun.

  17. How many women really notice the boob side of movies unless they are really thrust at us.

  18. I loved The Fifth Element! Anything with Bruce Willis actually. Christ Tucker was so funny in that film.

  19. Got to admit, I'm not a big fan of blood and carnage movies, though Cowboys vs Aliens does look cool. But then, I'm a science fiction fan too, so movies like Alien and Aliens are fun to watch.

  20. I think I saw the first Cowboys and Aliens--it was fun and campy, yes?

  21. I couldn't get into Cowboys and Aliens, though I'm with you, loved the leading men. I did like Lethal Weapon:)

  22. I enjoyed the first Lethal Weapon most, too. Like you, I think COWBOYS & ALIENS got a bum rap also. Of course, I write about an undead Texas Ranger in different eras like 1895 Cairo (DEATH IN THE HOUSE OF LIFE) Mark Twain, Nikola Tesla, and Oscar Wilde. I enjoyed THE 5TH ELEMENT, I just wanted the actress to be able to speak English!! :-)

  23. I never saw Cowboys vs. Aliens due to the bad press it was getting. I will have to spend a couple of hours and see it sometime now. I saw the first two Lethal Weapon movies a few years back. They have a Lethal Weapon rollercoaster in Australia and it is one of my favourite rides.

  24. I thought Cowboys & Aliens was a lot of fun too. It was full of action and quirky enough to stand out.

  25. I've seen all of these. When I first saw the trailers for Cowboys and Aliens I did not think Harrison Ford and Daniel Craig were enough to get me to watch a cowboy space movie. My hubby wanted to see it though, and I am so glad he did (he's not the best movie picker). I was riveted from beginning to end. This also happens to be one of the few action packed movies that did not need to consistently show the heroine's shirt gaping open to reinforce her competence and bravery.

All these were excellent picks. I'm with you on posting only a few. I could go on with my favorites all day :)

  26. I like westerns, not so much sci-fi, another one to check out. Like the commenter above me has said, don't really notice the boobage factor unless specifically alerted by a blogfest or similar :)

  27. I still haven't watched The Fifth Element. One of my buddies, who is a film guy, has that in his top five of all time.

  28. My husband enjoyed Cowboys and Aliens; not really my kind of movie. Loved the Lethal Weapon series though. Haven't seen the other two, but they look interesting. Great choices for the BB&C Blogfest!

  29. I saw part of Cowbosy And Aliens with a friend, wasn't really my taste.

  30. I haven't seen these, so I can't say much except maybe I'll give Cowboys and Aliens a shot to see what you liked about it.

  31. Excellent list of movies and I agreed with most of them. I didn't mind it being low on boobs I have my own. hehehe

  32. I LOVE the Lethal Weapon series!! Great movies, all. I agree though: the first is the best but they're all really good. Now Cowboys and Aliens I have not seen but it sure looks interesting. I'll have to give it a go...
    Happy BB&C!

I loved Cowboys & Aliens! I still can't believe it didn't do better when it came out. Of course, I also kinda loved Battleship and nobody liked that one either.
