My Once-A-Month Post and IWSG for May

THE GROUP LIST
So spring has done it's thing and now we're heading into summer. Flowers are blooming, new green is still present and I am bone tired. I feel like a limp dishrag, as my grandmother used to say. I am particularly in-inspired but have made myself get back to writing at lease a little bit each day. For that I am grateful. And in spite of my fatigue my post is full of fun stuff this month, just to boost your moral of course! Our house is on the market and you are welcome to "tour" it if you'd like...

OUR HOUSE FOR SALE

After six months or more of preparation and getting rid of 50% of our belongings, I am ready to not be in "house" mode. I wanted to mention that I'm trying out Scrivener to finish my WIP and so far, with help from friends and how-to videos I am making good progress. It's a different mind set, but so far so good. I wanted to ask if any of you writers out there have done or do use Scrivener? What do you think of it? Does it work with the way you think?

So far these are the only issues I have...
Can't find a synonym finder.
Can't "find and replace" in a WHOLE document, not just the chapter. Well, I haven't figured out if you can or not.
And I didn't realize how to set up the dictionary so now I only have English but no French.

Other than that I hope you are all, writers or not, enjoying the "calmer" weather, life, and whatever it is in life that makes you feel the best. I will leave you with a poem from Victor Hugo...
Victor Hugo

La vie est une fleur dont l'amour est le miel...
Life is a flower of which love is the honey...

And since I have a sweet tooth, this suits me fine!

The awesome co-hosts for the May edition of the IWSG are Stephen Tremp, Fundy Blue, MJ Fifield, Loni Townsend, Bish Denham, Susan Gourley, and Stephanie Faris!
Please visit and thank them!

And Last but not Least...

First Wednesday IWSG and Hello April!

Oh no I'm late. This is my state of life in April! But whenever I start to throw a pity party I remember this sage, and factual, phrase...

"There is always someone who has it worse than you, and better than you, someone uglier than you, someone prettier than you, someone you envy and someone you pity."

This is my motto. Helps me pull myself together, helps me become much more productive.
Think on it, then get out there and, as the Eagles sing, "Do something."

This has been a post for the IWSG, the Insecure Writer's Support Group, which can be found at IWSG and on Facebook at IWSG-FB. Please visit and leave comments on the other blogs participating (of which many will get hundreds of comments, while others will only get a few...)

Good luck to all those participating in the A to Z Blogging Challenge this month!

A huge thank you to our co-hosts this month,  Megan Morgan, Chris Votey, Viola Fury, Christine Rains, Madeline Mora-Summonte, L.G. Keltner, Rachna Chhabria, and Patricia Lynne!

Have a great first Wednesday of April!

First IWSG Post of 2016!!!

IWSG

Of course this post must start with a HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all! I send lots of happiness and success in this new beginning...
I stopped making New Year's resolutions a few years ago. Instead I like to take time in January to think back on the year before, to learn from both the pluses and minuses when it comes to my work because sometimes it's hard to be happy with my accomplishments, to pat myself on the back and say "good job!" Yet I'm learning that a lack of recognition causes unnecessary stress and takes all the joy out of doing what I love to do.
So I look forward to this new beginning, this new year of 2016 and to the new lessons I will learn, to the changes that will, inevitability come, and to the new novel that will be born!
What do you do each January of a new year? I hope you love what you do and enjoy where you are and/or where you are going. Good luck!

The LISTING Fest Blog Hop

Participating today in the "Listing Fest" Blog Hop designed by Bish Denham! Check out some of the other lists posted on this blog hop and maybe you'll get some good ideas or maybe just some good laughs! Not everyone thinks in terms of work like me, thank goodness!

Makin' a list and checking it a million times.
A list is a list, is a list, is a list, right? No! There are million ways of using a list!
For a writer, living without lists means no managing of time.
Well, then again, everyone makes lists of things not to forget.
What about making a list of things you like, or want to do, or books you've read, or, or, or, see, the list goes on!

Here is one writer's list.

Finish merging two copies of same WIP (work in progress) by end of October. Yep. My bad. Hate accidents like this.

Add new scenes discovered recently in my brain to said WIP and get working on final drafts.

Start work on cover with cover artist.

Run through "finished" mss (manuscript) before Christmas.

Talk with marketing guru (Carrie Butler) about pre-launch publicity.

Send copies out to beta readers in January.

Get copies back, make changes, send out to editor in February.

Get revised copy back. Make revisions in March.

Send final copy to publisher in April.

Shoot for May publishing date.

I think this is enough, especially because this is only my writing list. This doesn't include my "real life" list of everything to be done in between my writing listings...

Wish me luck...and endurance!
