IWSG Wednesday April 2, 2014

Okay, so taken up with working on the A to Z blog, I forgot the IWSG until Mark Means set me straight. Thank you Mark! Please scroll down if you want to go straight to the "B" for the A to Z blog today....
So, I’ve had a messed up stomach for going on three weeks now. Been to the doctor’s twice and am now thinking (from memories of my past) that perhaps what’s really going on here is stress. I’m still waiting on comments for my mss from two of my five readers and it’s about to drive me crazy, especially since I have read some of the comments that I HAVE received and know there is much work to be done… I thought I was finished. Thought I’d made it through, but no, the holes are there and must be fixed. So, I have decided to not wait any longer but to start reading all comments received right away and take care of what I can before I go around the bend. Hopefully that will calm my stomach as well.
Do you do that? Get stomach aches when you’re stressed or nervous?

  1. I think you should drink some nice, herbal, tea and listen to the sounds of the ocean hitting the beach. That should help relieve yours stress :)

    Hope it gets better and you start feeling well, soon!

  2. Hi Lisa, I knew I'd find you. :) It sounds a heck of a lot like stress to me; I react much the same, but worse. I do my best to control it. I was always that Type A, everything has to be just so type of person. I stressed differently, if that makes any sense. Outcomes were mostly positive. After the hemorrhage, that all changed; I was easily overwhelmed and fearful much of the time. It took a long time to start getting comfortable and feeling better about things.   3. Yes! And headaches. Stress upsets my stomach and gives me headaches. Good for you for digging in to the comments. Just remember this: You can't make EVERYONE happy. Read the comments and only take the ones that will help make your story better--the way YOU see it.

    I went through a stage where I tried to change my story to make everyone else happy and I ruined it. Listen to your heart and don't let criticism get you down.

  4. Stress manifests physically in so many ways. Reading and walking always help keep my stress level down. I tend to let everything affect me, and I have to work daily on controlling my stress. Normally the things that cause us stress are out of our control, but our reactions to them are. Thanks for stopping by my IWSG post. :)
