I actually have done more writing or writing related work over the last month than I have since November 2016. I feel blessed in between my bouts of insecurity. I am so lucky to have the job I do (if I have to work a full time job, this is the one for me), and I am grateful that I'm starting to put all the pieces of it together in a working schedule that if the time ever comes, will be fairly easy to pass off to another.
So I have a goal for the next month: my editor gave me some feedback on my manuscript she is editing right now, and I will have the revisions done by the next IWSG post in September. Stay tuned...
August question: What are your pet peeves when reading/writing/editing?
Reading: when a book has TOO many typos or isn't edited well.
Writing: Editing at the end when I have to read my WIP so many times I get almost sick of it, and that covers Editing too!
The awesome co-hosts this month are Christine Rains, Dolarah @ Book Lover, Ellen @ The Cynical Sailor, Yvonne Ventresca, and LG Keltner!
|Ha ha ha! A little humor to brighten your day!|
At least your are writing Lisa. Way to go.ReplyDelete
Still laughing (and agreeing) from the writers tax write offs. Should include in that posh hotel suites to be undisturbed during writing marathons.ReplyDelete
Congrats on all the writing accomplishments.
Hi Lisa - well done on life ... it's the way the world goes ...but we get there in the end. So glad you're writing though ... and now to the finish line, til the next one starts. All the best for the rest of August ... and I love the humour ... no tax deduction for procrastination?! Cheers HilaryReplyDelete
Glad the pieces are coming together. It is a juggle to work full time, write, and take care of everything else in life.ReplyDelete
Little late, but you still made it!
You're blessed to have a job schedule that fits you. There's no way I could work a J-O-B now.ReplyDelete
Yup, editing your own work until you're sick of it (or fall asleep reading it) is the worst...ReplyDelete
Also, you got that Chuck Palahniuk quote from a site called "Writing Quotes for Kids"??? :-)
I can most certainly relate to your pet peeve! Hope you can maintain your job and writing balance.
Good luck with your edits. I am doing some editing right now myself. Feels good- but also tiring. :)ReplyDelete
