ISWG September in 2020

Okay, this new format on blogger is definitely a challenge, especially at 2 am. This alone is enough to add to insecurities! Of which I have many at the moment. My current WIP is with the editor and all I can think of is what I should have written here, or there, how it really isn't any good, after all these years of working on it. I don't have a real title for it yet. Is it actually boring? Is it interesting to anyone else but me? This is the part of writing that scares me, makes me feel vulnerable and constantly questioning myself.

And I guess there is nothing I can do about that right now, so I should move on to other projects and let that one be until I hear back from the editor. Meanwhile, back in this crazy virus-laden life of 2020, I've been gardening like a mad woman, and building a garden shed with my husband, and putting in a new walkway, and reseeding my torn up lawn, and trying to raise a caterpillar, and, and, and... I'm getting a lot done but somehow don't feel a sense of accomplishment, unless I actually stop, sit out on my deck, and stare at my garden/yard. That seems to be my only place of peace right now, and I am grateful for having it in these strange times. Do you have a peaceful place? I hope so, because I think we all need one right now.

  1. I hear you about blogger. I finally had to revert to legacy to get my blog post up the way I wanted. Not fun. As if there aren't enough stressful things in life these days! I think sitting and looking at your garden success sounds just about perfect.

  2. Relax. You can make those changes when you get it back. I can relate to the title issue though.

  3. I love what you've done. After building a patio in June, I'd say sitting out there and staring at my garden and plants is my happy spot.

  4. The new blogger is a pain. I've had it for a few months and just now I think I'm getting the hang of it. I think.

    Your garden looks great!

  6. Lisa, your yard, path, shed, and gardens look lovely! Kudos to you for all your hard work and for creating beauty! The new version of blogger has had me tearing my hair out. I'm sick of trying to send Blogger feedback. I'm back to the old version until they shut it down. It may sound weird, but the best peace I'm finding is working on jigsaw puzzles. We've had bad forest fires in Colorado which have kept me mostly inside. Now that the air is clearer, it's back to nature for me. All the best to you!

  7. Hi Lisa - you've done really well - must be so rewarding to see so much finished - love the flowers ... just enjoy ... you'll be tweaking for ever ... but fun to do and see new things appear. Take care and all the best - Hilary

PS I'm about to put a post up in the new blogger this weekend or Monday! I'll have to see how it goes - my requirements are simple ... so hope I can maintain that - we'll see!!!
